Papua New Guinea National Commission for UNESCO

Education, Science,
Culture & Communication
for Papua New Guinea.

Localizing the global mandates of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization — under the Ministry of Education.

Our Mandate

Building peace in the minds
of people — here at home.

The PNG National Commission for UNESCO is the bridge between the United Nations and Papua New Guinea. Operating under the Ministry of Education, we translate UNESCO's global mandates into national programmes that answer PNG's own priorities.

Through four programme sectors — Education, Natural & Social Sciences, Culture & Heritage, and Information & Communication — we work with schools, communities and government to safeguard what makes this nation unique.

  • Education
  • Natural & Social Sciences
  • Culture & Heritage
  • Information & Communication

Four programmes.
One mandate.
